The City of Cape Town’s MyCiTi bus service is pleased to announce a number of improvements to routes and services in Table View, Khayelitsha and Atlantis from Saturday, 9 November 2024. The improvements include the addition of two new stops in Khayelitsha, one additional stop in Atlantis, and the expansion of services in Table View with nine new stops.

‘Sinivile, we have heard you, and in response to passenger requests on safety and proximity, we have added two more MyCiTi stops in Khayelitsha and one more in Atlantis. A number of requests and suggestions are received on an ongoing basis via the Transport Information Centre, MyCiTi website, app and social media. All requests are considered and assessed before a decision is reached. In this way, MyCiTi is a dynamic, responsive transport system that responds to passenger needs by regularly reviewing and optimising routes and services to keep Cape Town moving,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The two additional route D02 stops in Khayelitsha are:

  • Lookout Hill - Intersection of Spine Road and Victoria Mxenge Road
  • Khwebula - Between the Makabeni and Ngingcu stops

The additional route T03 stop in Atlantis is:

  • Hillary - Between Ankerlig Power Station and Neil Hare stops

The route improvements and new stops for Table View and surrounds are:

  • Some route 214 buses will extend to serve four new stops in the Rivergate area. As a result of improvements to this route, passengers travelling from Pioneer Valley toward Table View will also benefit from a quicker journey.
  • Route 216 will be reconfigured to connect with Parklands North by providing a direct route from Wood Station to Table Bay Mall and via Cormorant Avenue to Big Bay. As a result, the previously unused Seaside Village and Cormorant stops will be reactivated and the Humewood and Devonshire stops will be decommissioned until further notice. Five new stops will be introduced along the adjusted route.
  • There will be minor timetable improvements to routes T01, D05 and 215, with improved running times and more buses in the morning and afternoon peak periods.
  • Potsdam and Circle East stations will be added to the T01x express service, providing a quicker journey option for passengers travelling towards Table View and the city centre.

‘In Table View, routes are being adjusted to better service the majority of our existing passengers while reaching newly developed areas around this growing part of the city, notably the Rivergate and Parklands north areas. These adjustments will improve access to services for many more people and importantly, create a more direct connection between Table View, Parklands North, Table Bay Mall and Big Bay.’
