Rotary International's District 9350 is celebrating a monumental milestone—100 years of impactful service across the Western and Northern Cape of South Africa, Angola, and Namibia. To commemorate this centenary, the district has launched the ACT4IMPACT campaign, a call to action encouraging individuals of all ages to become community changemakers.

Kicking off at the Rotary Expo from February 4-6, 2025, at the V&A Waterfront, ACT4IMPACT showcases Rotary's extensive community service projects. Visitors explored initiatives that have transformed lives, from conducting 100 eye surgeries and establishing 40 food gardens to rescuing 600 sea turtles.

Governor Stephen Young emphasizes the importance of collaboration, stating, “The need is vast; it will take all of us working together to make a significant impact.” The campaign not only invites participation but also highlights Rotary's proven track record in addressing pressing community challenges across seven service areas, including promoting peace, fighting disease, and protecting the environment.

In Africa, Rotary provides free eye screenings for schoolchildren and supports street children in Luanda, Angola, with essential resources and educational opportunities. Additionally, over 40 food gardens combat malnutrition while promoting sustainable farming techniques.

Individuals and organizations are encouraged to draw inspiration from Rotary's century of impact through mentoring, volunteering, and spearheading projects. Young concludes, “We want to encourage you to be part of making a positive impact in your community.”
