A Vision for Revitalisation

Aligned with the City’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) 2022-2027, the proposed redevelopment seeks to transform the Good Hope Centre precinct into a vibrant, multi-use space that drives economic growth, creates jobs, and attracts investment. The project aims to breathe new life into this underutilised asset, enhancing Cape Town’s urban landscape while preserving its rich historical and cultural significance.

Alderman James Vos, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, emphasised the importance of public input: “We encourage all Capetonians to share their views on this proposal. The Good Hope Centre has played a significant role in our city’s history, and its redevelopment presents a unique opportunity to reimagine its purpose while ensuring it contributes meaningfully to our economy and communities.”
